Transgender people, the majority of whom have never had problems voting in the past, may now lose their right to vote due to dozens of new voter suppression laws. Over 25,000 transgender people could have their voting rights taken away. In response to these dubious new laws, we have released two resources to help transgender people reclaim their voting rights.
Definitely take a look at this website if you’re eligible to vote this upcoming election! It’s extremely important, considering that Romney will literally try to take away our basic human and legal rights. Spread this around as well so your trans* followers can see it.

Hey everyone,
So recently with all the laci green stuff going on, I saw a lot of people asking for WoC or PoC who talk about sex positivity etc and vloggers/youtube personalities.
From the top of my head I could only think of this tumblr, run by an awesome “fierce-haired Peurto Rican sexologist” (in her own words and she’s certainly all that and more!) so I reached out to her, and she sent me a really kind answer which I am publishing.
Please feel free to signal boost and add your favorite sex positive websites run by (or geared towards) WoC, QPoC or just PoC in general.
Thanks. Hope this helps =)
hi! thanks for reaching out! yes there are TONS of WOC sex educators, sexologists, etc. Some of my favs and who I know personally include:
Arielle Loren who also wrote this post on Black women teaching ppl about sex.
Advocates for youth My Sistah’s health educators do some vlogging
HomeGirl.TV I was the only sexologist giving advice but advice by other WOC def represented as we are the focus. It’s a social networking site so folks will have to log in/join to see vids. But one that is open to viewing is this one abtpartner not wanting to wear condoms.
The only vlog I’ve done was on being an abortion doula b/c i don’t have and can’t afford the technology to do it as often! my website is under construction but when it’s up i have a part re: POC writing on sex.
folks can always look into the WOC sexual health network on fb too!
edit: she put up a link on her own tumblr too. So I am going to add this here, just so people can follow responses and resources on both the posts. If responses start coming through, I’ll be sure to reblog it.

I was wondering if you could signal boost the kickstarter for the zine I put together on disabilities. All the info about it can be found on the kickstarted page and if you have questions feel free to contact me.
Hi! I just started a tumblr, the Transgender Housing Network. After seeing dozens of posts come across my dash about displaced or homeless trans people needing places to crash, I decided that there had to be a way to organize these posts somehow, and to put those in need in contact with those willing to lend a hand. If you’re trans and need a place to stay, or if you have a couch or floor or spare bedroom available for someone in need, I urge you to reblog this post, follow the blog, and get the word out. Everything is still under heavy construction, but the more people that see and hear about this blog, the more people will be able to benefit from it! I know that there are so many people here on tumblr who are in need of a place to stay for a night or two, and I also know how many amazing, wonderful people would be willing to host someone and help out a trans person in need. We all know what a huge problem unemployment and homelessness are for trans people (especially TPOC and trans women) — even a place to stay for a night can make the biggest difference! So PLEASE, even if you can’t offer up your couch, REBLOG AND SIGNAL BOOST. I really, really think that this is something that could help a lot of people, and I would LOVE to see this spammed all over my dash and the dashes of all of my lovely followers!!
This is great, and definitely something everyone should know about— even if you’re not trans* yourself, you never know when someone in your life will be in need of this kind of information.
A similar resource for queer identified people is Open Homes.

Cristian Fernandez is only 12 years old. And if Florida prosecutor Angela Corey has her way, he’ll never leave jail again.
Cristian hasn’t had an easy life. He’s the same age now as his mother was when he was born. He’s a survivor of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. In 2010, Cristian watched his stepfather commit suicide to avoid being charged with abusing Cristian.
Last January, Cristian was wrestling with his 2-year-old brother, David, and accidentally broke David’s leg. Despite this, their mother left Cristian with his brother again in March. While the two boys were alone, Cristian allegedly pushed his brother against a bookcase, and David sustained a head injury. After their mother returned home, she waited six hours before taking David to the hospital. David eventually died.
Now Cristian is being charged with first degree murder — as an adult. He’s the youngest person in the history of his Florida county to receive this charge, and his next hearing is scheduled for tomorrow.
