Rachel Maddow shares a clip from an Al Jazeera documentary featuring an Ohio State Legislator who is advocating extreme anti-abortion legislation.

He really should have just stopped at “I’m not a woman so,” that was really all that needed to be said. 

And I find it really fascinating that someone who tried SO HARD to ban abortion in Ohio had “never thought about” WHY a woman might want or need one. 

Not your body, not your choice.

I am sure this comes as no surprise to ya’ll, but it’s always nice when things like FACTS and SCIENCE back us up.

Between 1990 and 2008, pregnancy and abortion rates for women in their twenties dropped dramatically, a new study revealed today. Pregnancy rates fell by 18 percent, while abortion rates dropped by a third.

One of the biggest influencing factors in this decrease is the growing accessibility, use, and options for birth control. Contraceptive use is the best way to prevent abortions in the U.S. Over time, young women have gotten greater access to a larger number of pregnancy prevention methods. The study explains two main causes in the drop:

The introduction of new contraceptive methods and discontinuation of existing ones [and]changes in the use of existing methods: the proportion of women using any method, the methods used, and how consistently and effectively they are used.

I’m sure this will mean nothing for the antis who will do anything to restrict the right for us to control our bodies, but this is still great to hear.

Heads up to all your pro choicers out there. This sunday is Pro - Life Cupcake Day. 
Yeah, I had to look up what that was as well.

Here is the description that was written by the pro lifers themselves:
Bring in a tray of cupcakes for any group of people and you will find that they will flock to get them. As soon as they take a bite they will probably ask, “Who’s birthday is it?”

Then you answer. “It’s no ones birthday. These cupcakes represent the 50,000,000 children who weren’t allowed to be born, who never had a birthday.” The cake in their mouth will become dry and the moment will hopefully become quite somber. Then you say, “If you and I were aborted we wouldn’t have a birthday party either.” 

I’ll be interested to see if anyone encounters this on sunday!

A potion given to the Israelites by God is used to determine paternity. If the father is not the husband, an abortion occurs. god clearly places no value on a fetus that is not the result of union between husband and wife.

God’s law states that if a woman is pregnant and is to be executed there is to be no waiting for the fetus to be born. It is counted as part of the mother and she burned to death with it still in her womb.

How fucking dare you. You would compare the mentality of people who enslave, torture and murder others based on prejudice to that of the pro-choice mentality? A mentality that saves the lives of uterus-bearers and grants them the right to do what they want with their own body?

The difference between Hitler and me is that he believed it was okay to infringe on other people’s rights, life and dignity. No, in fact, this is fucking rich because what Hitler did is exactly what pro-lifers want to do: control people’s bodies and choices, deny them certain rights and do this by using anti-choice, misogynistic propaganda.

YOU have more in common with Hitler and those racist fucks who enslaved black people than I or any other pro-choicer does.

If I chose to have an abortion it would happen to something that is INSIDE MY body. Enslavement happens to people who have been born, who are autonomously living, who have feelings, dreams, families, loved ones - an actual life.
Pro-life laws enslave uterus-bearers to their biology and force them to carry unwanted pregnancies to term and then give birth against their will.
That is a violation of human rights. That is fascist.

Allowing others to make their own choices about THEIR OWN BODIES is not the same as redefining personhood so that you can murder people you don’t like. You sick fuck.
